Last but not least there was the Marionnaud corner with products from the Marionnaud house brand. The Marionnaud house brand has a skin care line, a make-up line and also a nail polish collection. Especially the new Rouge Démesure lip stick colors for fall drew my attention, and the new Marionnaud Nail Lacquer colors for the holiday season also looked very promising. That glittery nail polish was really screaming my name…

I thought all the rooms were fantastic and I loved how Marionnaud chose to present all the brands and products. They really came up with a unique concept for this event, and I am so happy that I got to be there to experience it. Two thumbs up for this event!

Estée Lauder Modern Muse eau de parfum

Modern Muse is Estée Lauder’s newest fragrance, inspired by Estée Lauder’s vision of a modern muse. A woman with natural charisma and spontaneity who inspires the people around her. Unlike most perfumes, Estée Lauder Modern Muse doesn’t have a top note, a heart note and a base note, but instead it has two accords. First you have the floral accord with jasmine, mandarin, honeysuckle and lily. And then you have the woody accord with patchouli, vanilla, amber and musk. So Modern Muse has that same duality that you find in the personality of a modern 21^st century woman. And because Modern Muse smells both floral and woody, it’s a scent that will appeal to a lot of women. I definitely liked the smell and I fell in love with it after the first sniff.

The Estée Lauder Modern Muse eau de parfum will be available at the end of October in 30, 50 and 100 ml for respectively 68 CHF, 98 CHF and 138 CHF.

Nacha Naturals Bali Hair Oil

The Nacha Naturals Bali Hair Oil is, as the name states, another hair oil. Well damn. But since I gave the first hair oil a chance, I decided to give this one the benefit of the doubt as well. The combination of jojoba oil, sesame oil, olive oil, avocado oil and wheat germ oil with lavender, sage, chamomile, cedar wood and rosemary should stimulate hair growth and prevent hair loss. Now that sounded like music to my ears! My hair is thin, fine and I don’t have a lot of it, so I was very excited to start using this hair oil. You just have to warm it up, massage it into your scalp, leave it on for at least 20 minutes and rinse it out with shampoo.

 I use 3 spoonfuls of oil for one treatment

I have been using the Nacha Naturals Bali Hair Oil once a week for four weeks now, together with the Blue Stone Botanicals Traditional Balinese Tonic for Hair & Scalp. An hour or two before I get in the shower I massage the product into my scalp and I just let it sit. And then I wash it out. I was happy to discover that my hair doesn’t feel any greasier afterwards and that it doesn’t get greasy any faster in the days that follow either. I honestly expected the worst, because the Nacha Naturals Bali Hair Oil really looks and feels like olive oil. But luckily my fear was ungrounded. And the smell? Oh gosh, it’s so lovely! The essential oils in the formula really are a feast for your nose. I don’t notice any changes in my hair growth yet and I still find as much hair in my comb as before, but honestly, after only four weeks I’d say that’s to be expected. I will continue to use the Nacha Naturals Bali Hair Oil, and then hopefully in a few months’ time I will see a difference!

Estée Lauder Pure Color Molten Metals fall make-up

Last but not least I got to see Estée Lauder’s new Molten Metals fall make-up collection. The collection is inspired by big cities, architecture, metal and glass. In the products that translates into gorgeous metallics that melt on the skin, often with a shimmery finish. The Molten Metals collection has two brand new Pure Color Intense Eyeshadow Trio palettes: Arctic Zink (blues) and Beach Metals (peachy shades). There are also two new Pure Color High Intensity Lip Lacquers: Vinyl Rose (soft pink) and Hot Cherry (bright red). And on our nails we’ll be wearing one of the new Pure Color Vivid Shine Nail Lacquers this fall, nail polish with a chrome finish. Especially the anthracite-colored Smoked Chrome and the dirty pink Rose Gold are hot this season. I was really amazed by the intense look that Estée Lauder used for the Molten Metals campaign, so who knows, maybe I’ll get the products for that look and recreate it here on the blog. My fingers are definitely itching…

Inika Mineral Eye Shadow in Lightening

The Inika Mineral Eye Shadow in Lightening is a loose mineral eyeshadow in a shimmery pure white color. I personally like to use it as a highlighter. That means that I don’t use Lightening on my whole eyelid, but instead I use it in the inner corners of my eyes or as an accent color to add some light to my eyes. The shimmery finish beautifully captures the light and gives you that fresh-eyed look. You’ll be amazed to see what that little bit of brightness can do for your eyes!

In the basement of the castle – the most party-proof basement I have ever seen, so cool – the new Superdry perfumes were showcased. Superdry is probably mostly known for its clothes, but the brand now also has two perfume lines – one for women and one for men – that will be available next month here in Switzerland. The women’s line is called Neon and it consist of four different fragrances. Neon Pink is a oriental woody fragrance with bergamot, pineapple, jasmine, rose, sandalwood and musk. Neon Orange is a fruity citrusy scent with mandarin, blood orange, orange blossom, pineapple and cedarwood. Neon Blue is a fresh floral fragrance with apple, melon, lily of the valley, jasmine and musk. And Neon Purple is a creamy perfume with fig, cedarwood, sandalwood, coconut, tonka and musk. My personal favorite is Neon Orange, because it smells so fresh and sweet.

Review | Fendi L’Acquarossa eau de parfum

Red is the color of passion, femininity and fire. And it is also the color of the newest Fendi fragrance, L’Acquarossa. L’Acquarossa – which translates into red water – aims at a strong yet sophisticated woman who is proud, elegant and ultra feminine. The fragrance is powerful, sensual and full of temperament, just like the woman who wears it. And since I am a strong fierce woman myself (cough) the new Fendi L’Acquarossa is perfect for me!

Fendi L’Acquarossa comes in a sleek rectangular red bottle with golden and black details. Very elegant. The bottle alone oozes power and class. No frivolous girly girl stuff here!

The fragrance itself is also strong and sophisticated. In the base notes of the perfume you will discover the seductive smell of red cedarwood, musk and patchouli. In the heart notes you will find the fruity spicy smell of Lantana flower, rose, orange blossom and magnolia. And in the top notes you will recognize the vivacious and intoxicating smell of bergamot, tangerine and plum.

Now of course I didn’t figure all this out by myself – describing scents and analyzing perfumes is difficult – but one thing is for sure: Fendi L’Acquarossa is a complex and unique fragrance that smells very feminine and at the same time very powerful. Some might find L’Acquarossa a bit too heavy or overpowering, but I personally like strong perfumes. My taste in perfume is like my taste in music: very wide and diverse. Again, describing a perfume is difficult and very personal, but if you like rich, hypnotizing fragrances then I think you will like Fendi’s new L’Acquarossa.
